My father is Ron Spencer Meppom, he was called to service with the 6OFP(Det)-1 OFP 1967-1968.

Vietnam - 4 Visits

HI I visited 1 OFP 4 times in 1969 and found the blokes ace.

I was a Pte , then a Cpl. Stayed overnite 3 times and miss the place big time - Spent most of my time in Saigon, Long Binh, Nui Dat and 1 ALSG @ AOD in Documentation @ Control office and if I had my time over I would prefer The Dat.

Now I am a TPI so it's all a sad memory in many ways. Enjoyed patrols (few) and had 1st. night in country in a M60 gunpit! Served 18/4/67 - 18/4/70 and got a posting as a S/Sgt to New Guinea highlands but tore the chevrons and crown off and got out.

Anyway, good luck to the webmaster and hope I may hear anything.

Re new website

EX 2nd Advance Ord Dept 1967/68

I was at Vung Tau during 1967 /1968 with Ordanace task force namely 2AOD .I was with your group several times during my tour.I escourted some officers to the Depot and spent several days (5) at Nui Dat on three occations.  But with time and lack of memory I can't remember names of the peaple or where I would have stayed at the depot.

Any way won't be around much longer as I have Lukeamia and am currently in partial remission.

Glad I found your site it brought back good and some bad memories.

Perth Reunion

We would like to thank Tony & Kathy & members of the OFP group that attended the Perth Reunion 2008 for allowing us to be guests of Peter & Wendy Van Der Wel. We had a woderful time and found everyone to be very friendly and look forward to ? maybe attending the Adelaide 2009 reunion - providing this is O.K.
